Resurrection Iron & Parts is the continuation of a family legacy that began nearly 80 years ago—one rooted in craftsmanship, community, and a deep respect for American motorcycle history.
Our story begins in 1946, when Nettles Harley-Davidson opened in Hartsville, South Carolina. In the 1950s, the dealership moved to Surfside Beach, quickly becoming a fixture for coastal riders. In 1972, Eugene Nettles sold the dealership to Billy Abbott, a passionate rider and entrepreneur who renamed it Coastal Harley-Davidson. By the mid-1970s, Billy relocated the business to Murrells Inlet, where it thrived as a major force in the Grand Strand motorcycle community.
Billy and his wife Pat Ammons Abbott helped shape Myrtle Beach’s place in American motorcycle culture. Billy was a vocal advocate for keeping the Dealers Association Spring Rally—what most now call Myrtle Beach Bike Week—in the area, and was also instrumental in helping start what became known as the Myrtle Beach Fall Rally, Cruisin’ the Coast. Meanwhile, Pat led the charge on merchandise and MotorClothes, introducing original, resort-themed Harley-Davidson t-shirt designs that put the dealership on the map for visiting riders. Their apparel became iconic, setting the standard for branded gear at dealerships across the country. Together they won many prestigious awards for dealership excellence from Harley-Davidson Motor Co.
From 1994 to 1998, their son Will Abbott managed the dealership’s Ocean Boulevard retail store in Myrtle Beach. He was joined by his sister, Marlaina Abbott-Johnson, who began working with him in 1994 during her senior year of high school, helping after school and on weekends.
When the dealership was sold in 1998, the Abbotts didn’t slow down. Billy and Pat opened multiple successful antique stores. Will founded Coastal Sports, a gun shop and indoor shooting range that served the community until he sold it in 2021. Marlaina pursued higher education at Coastal Carolina University, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, and The Citadel College of Graduate and Professional Studies, while also engaging in several business ventures. Her professional path eventually led her into the vehicle industry, where she co-owned a used car dealership and went on to become a nationally recognized service advisor, service manager, fixed operations director, and claims adjuster in the automotive, RV, and powersports industries.
In April 2025, Marlaina returned to her roots—literally and figuratively—by founding Resurrection Iron & Parts. Built on decades of collected NOS (New Old Stock) and OEM inventory, the business is a tribute to her family’s Harley-Davidson legacy and to riders who still believe in keeping history on the road.
We specialize in rare OEM parts from the 1930s to the 1990s—many sourced directly from the original Coastal Harley-Davidson stockroom—and offer them to builders, restorers, collectors, and purists who want the real thing.
In 2010, Billy Abbott and the original Coastal Harley-Davidson inventory were featured on the History Channel’s American Pickers (Season 2, Episode 8: “Smooth Operators”). The episode showcased the treasure trove of vintage Harley parts that Billy had preserved long after the dealership closed its doors—introducing a nationwide audience to the story behind the steel.
Even earlier, in June 1996, Billy was honored in the 50th Anniversary Edition of Easy Rider magazine, further cementing his role in shaping South Carolina’s motorcycle scene and preserving its legacy for future generations.
At Resurrection Iron, this isn’t just inventory—it’s American motorcycle history. And we’re not just another parts seller—we’re a family continuing a tradition. From the bar-and-shield to the backroads of the Lowcountry, we’re proud to keep the legend alive.
Welcome to Resurrection Iron & Parts.
